I’m reviewing The Fat Loss Bible by Anthony Colpo, a hot selling ebook. I spent my money, and am going through chapter by chapter, giving my opinion. Read the chapter reviews to see if this book is for you. SO far, I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the knowledge, along with the resources to back up the information, and one of the myths he talks about blew me away!
Anyway, I’m up to Chapter 8, and this is about calculating your calorie intake. This is all about creating the plan that will work for you/me now! You can read why I chose to review The Fat Loss Bible ebook here.
What’s interesting is he isn’t just talking about creating a calorie deficit, because we can all just “eat less”, but he’s talking about how to create one that will work, and you’ll steadily stick with and lose. One sentence he’s talking about other ways of calorie cutting, and the person ends up gaining weight. That’s just like what happens to me, and now I understand what I was doing wrong on that aspect. He also goes into the topic of stalls, when your body stops losing for a period of time. He also talks about finding the right level, because cutting too many calories will end up putting you in a mode where your body doesn’t want to let go of the weight it’s holding. It goes into survival mode. You also want to be careful that you aren’t losing lean mass, but you want to work with fat mass.
On the bottom of chapter 8 is a block of information talking about breaking plateaus.
Chapter 9 of “The Fat Loss Bible” will be looking at the structure of the program.

Section 2 of The Fat Loss Bible talks about the actual process of working to get lean. Now that we have some myths out of the way, it’s time to see what the plan entails and if it’s intense, reasonable, or difficult to follow.
Chapter 7 of “The Fat Loss Bible” by Anthony Colpo speaks about calories, and knowing what your caloric intake is. It comes down to calorie deficit, something most people know. The question is, will it shed light on anything, or spend an entire chapter saying that same exact sentence?
Next we’re looking at how much energy we expend while at rest. He offers formulas (equations for a male and female) and different examples of how you can get your actual body fat measurement as well. It’s amazing the range of differences people have of a resting metabolic rate, based on the body fat they have. I love that the “work grid” looks at different types of jobs, and works them in. Let’s face it, when I was on my feet working, I burned more calories than sitting, but my body was used to that on a regular basis, so it didn’t cause me to lose weight.
Lots of equations at the end giving examples. It seems a tad overwhelming at first, but honestly when you break it down, it only takes a few minutes, and you have a baseline to work with.

Chapter 6 starts with a myth I’d heard and believed. It’s not true? REALLY??? Man, I need to keep reading, because I’m really wondering about this one. I mean, I keep hearing it over and over again.
Here we go, diving into Chapter 6 of The Fat Loss Bible.
He says there’s a “Kernal of truth”, but they took one tiny theory and ran with it. It’s not quite what it seems. Thank you media for grabbing onto one tiny morsel of information and making it seem bigger than it is. Geez, I feel like the wool’s been over my eyes for awhile now. Organs, not skeletal muscles at rest? Man, I have to keep reading…
All righty then, the study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition is really interesting, but I don’t get it. I mean, they explain it, but that means I was wrong, yet again! He said he would shatter myths, and that he’s doing…even myths I’d bought into.
It all comes back to this one effect again. Plain and simple, drawn out for me, it’s something I need to confront and just do.

Chapter 5 of The Fat Loss Bible, goes on to discuss the difference between eating at different times of the day, and what does and doesn’t happen. In this review, you’ll see Anthony Colpo is in the process of breaking some of the myths we’ve been told about losing fat and weight, based on books, and things the media has been shoving down our throats. Let’s face it, when one book sells well, everyone jumps on the bandwagon and suddenly a trend of fad has started. It’s the cut this out, cut that out, eat exactly this time of day and more.
I’m tired of the junk I’m being fed, so I’m happy to read about these myths being broken. He backs up his information with research, actual studies and other facts. I like what I’m reading so far, and I’m about to finish reading chapter 5 of The Fat Loss Bible, so I can continue reviewing it.
Here’s what the rest of Chapter 5 has to offer…
Carbohydrates are the focus of chapter 5, and I’m good and ready to read this chapter. I’ve done low fat, low carb, high protein, low calorie, high calories, good carb, bad carb stuff and I want to know once and for all what’s it all about Alfie? He goes on to discuss tryptophan, serotonin, tyrosine and blood levels, and how some of these things affect our brain and body. He discusses performance, short-term memory and similar findings. There’s an interesting study he discusses that Harvard researchers did too.
He looks at the GI (glycemic index) of foods, and this is something important when understanding carbs. Learning about Diabetes myself, I had to understand the Glycemic Index better myself! Okay, I like how chapter 5 ends. I’m stopping reading for today, I’ll be back tomorrow with another chapter review of The Fat Loss Bible.

Chapter 4’s review on The Fat Loss Bible centers around nutrition. In chapter 4, Anthony Colpo discusses the value of the meals that you do eat. This myth is based on the time of day that you eat. A famous talk show host mentions she doesn’t eat after 7 or 8 o’clock at night. Many diet books tell you that you shouldn’t eat late in night, or you should make your largest meals early in the day. In looking at the time of day that you eat, and the size of meals that you eat, “The Fat Loss Bible” breaks some myths with research and data. Once again, specific cases are stated, not random tossed out “this is a fact, believe me” stuff. He backs up each thing that he says.
He looks at a study of people with Type 2 Diabetes. This holds interest to me, because I fall in that group of people. One of my concerns is a jump in my numbers before bed time. It looks at three groups, all eating differently and shows us the outcome. Ghrelin (hormone) is discussed also. Looking at eating patterns, we discover that we may be doing things backwards, based on information we read. What he’s saying makes sense, and it’s not some “unbelievable, unreachable” explanation. A plan is slowly forming, and I’m starting to understand the sensibility here. Looks like I may turn my patterns around!

Continuing “The Fat Loss Bible” review, all I can say is Wow!
Wow, the myth in chapter 3 is blowing me away. I’d read about multiple small meals, and started doing this. I have to watch my blood sugar, this made sense to me. Does this help speed up your metabolism, or is it a myth? Wow, I need to keep reading. It’s not what I thought! I want to know more…
He goes on to say it may look good on paper, but realistically, it’s not the right answer. I’m blown away, it had made sense to me, but maybe I need to rethink things! Based on studies, it didn’t make a difference between how you ate, but what you had. He backs up his information with case after case of research. Seriously, I’m blown away. I was following the myth. I’ve been following the myth getting frustrated along the way. The myth is now shattered.
The Fat Loss Bible then goes on to discuss what they recommend. It looks at calorie consumption and 3 good quality meals a day. What I like the most however is the footnotes at the bottom, which show references, and actual backup research.
Anthony Colpo has done his work writing this. I can’t wait to read chapter 4, after chapter 3 just blew me away.

The Fat Loss Bible Review, Chapter 2
Chapter 2 in The Fat Loss Bible looks at protein and fat. A lot of different information has been floating around when it comes to protein, fat and carbs. It looks at total intake, versus high and low carb, fat or protein diets.
It looks at that “I’m always hungry!” statement so many people make, and discusses what does and doesn’t help hunger. It also looks at how your blood glucose level can make you feel certain ways when it comes to hunger. It mentions stabilizing your blood glucose levels can help greatly.
Another topic discussed is cholycystokinin. I like how he mentions an actual research situation that occurred, and explains what the outcome was and why.
More information about protein is discussed next, and again research backs up the informaton and statements.
Chapter 2 also discusses not only losing weight, but keeping it off, and the effect of boosting thermogenesis. None of this speaks over me. Even though some of those words may be new to some people, everything is carefully explained.
I’m now reading about lean mass loss and fat loss. We’re back to more information about protein, and our immune functions. This is very thorough, and I’m only on chapter 2. This is just jam packed with information. I can’t wait to keep reading…
Discusses not just how much you eat, but what you eat, and how it can affect the overall picture.
I’ll be covering chapter 3, and continuing my review of “The Fat Loss Bible” tomorrow. I’m looking forward to it; it’s interesting reading.

I was blow drying my hair and looked in the mirror and suddenly saw my fat self. I saw the bloat in my face, and I started my old pattern of oh my gosh, they’re going to see I am actually heavy. I mean, well, they know, but wow, look at me. I’m fat.
That’s me. I was heading to see some friends, and this was a realization that hit me…I wrote about it in one of my other blogs, Body, Mind & Solar back in May.
I just want to point out, I’m a real person, real weight issue, and tired of being fat. I’ve tried countless ways to lose weight, and after being overweight now for 20 years, I’m desperately trying to find an answer.
I even went for a Gastric Bypass Consult. I was ready man…I couldn’t wait. I finally decided to go for it….well, guess what. I have malabsorption issues. I can’t get the surgery, because after surgery, I may not absorb all my nutrients I need properly. I felt deflated at first, totally shot down, but then I realized, there was a reason I didn’t get it done. I may not understand the reason, but so be it. I made peace with it, but it felt like I’d hit a wall. Now what?
Who am I? I wear a size 22 jeans. Not as in 22 inches, I’m talking plus-size clothing size 22, pushing into 24’s. I’m not a girl with a 15 year old metabolism. I turned 40 this year, and I’m tired of being fat, plain and simple.
I went back on NutriSystem, and my husband joined along. He lost 30 pounds, I lost 10, then hit a wall. I just want to learn to control proper portions of food, move my body, and make progress, even if it is painfully slow. I want to start losing weight, not continually gain each year.
That’s why I decided to start looking at some of the ebooks. Look I’ve read most of the best sellers over the years, and haven’t found what I needed, so I sorted through some of the ebooks when I was over working on a different internet marketing project, and came across three ebooks that caught my attention. Of the three I chose, the one I picked I couldn’t find a lot of info, since it’s new. I decided to be the voice for others, reading it and reviewing what I see.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not interested in giving you word by word details, because that’s not fair to the author, and being a writer myself, I respect his right to sell his book and ideas. I’ve got a network of blogs, have an armful of articles, and a few books of my own. What I’m looking to do, is a chapter by chapter review…and letting you know if the information is helpful, and is it just glossed over what we know, or is it core stuff that I’m glad I’m learning.

The Fat Loss Bible Review continued…Chapter 1
Anthony Colpo differentiates between weight loss and fat loss before getting into the book. He’s explaining things thoroughly, and easily. He’s not speaking over my head with terminology the average user doesn’t understand. He’s clear, concise and to the point.
He says it’s not about a number, but body composition. I like how he’s putting it into perspective. I’m going to like his writing style, I can tell all ready. He’s given us a percentage of body fat and tells us what a female and male should expect to look like, based on if you want a firm look, or an even more athletic look. I now have a percentage to shoot for, because I’d like to see firm, not overly athletic. I never knew how to figure out where to be.
The Fat Loss Bible (Colpo, Anthony) now goes into myths in chapter 1. It looks at things we’ve been told by the media, and straightens us out. Talks about studies over the years, under reported information, and exaggerated information that’s been fed to the media. It also speaks about energy conversion. In the “First Law of Thermodynamics”, I like how it states taht “energy can neither be created nor destroyed. It can only be converted from one form to another…it doesn’t magically disappear.” I never thought about it that way. I mean, sure I know and understand, but putting it in those words, it makes more logical sense to me. Again, we’re reminded propaganda is intended to get your attention, so you buy into things that may not be the best choices for weight loss.
The Fat Loss Bible (Colpo, Anthony)
Chapter 1 read, and I’m steaming forward to Chapter 2. I’m eager to read more. I hope you find “The Fat Loss Bible Review” helpful. I’m hoping it helps me!
I’m a real person! Here’s a blog entry I wrote on my other blog about discovering old photos of myself, and seeing how much I’ve changed physically.

I got a free bonus ebook on supplements. I like that I can download it twice, they give you passwords, so i can put one copy on my laptop, and one here on my desktop. Nice touch…
16 chapters are ahead of me. I’ll be taking it step by step, and give you my opinions as I go.
How much of the hype in the diet industry is clever PR?
That’s what we’re looking at first in the introductory area. That Fat Loss Bible is saying it’s based on facts, not gimmicks. Scientific facts, not a PR companies book keeping facts that gimmicks sell.
It’s looking to get rid of the myths that the media has you believing, and wants to help sort out the facts. I like that. I hope it delivers. I want it to help me untangle the lies I may have been told over the last 20 years trying to lose weight. We’ll see…time will tell.
If you’d like to see my stress and frustration with dieting and exercise, read back a little in this blog! I’ll share more personal thoughts on another blog too. Gotta go for now…
